Durian. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will visit Indonesia and to hold bilateral talks with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, an official from Indonesian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
“It will be PM Albanese’s first official overseas trip and summit since his inauguration in May,” said Santo Darmosumarto, director of East Asia and Pacific Affairs of Indonesian Foreign Ministry during the ministry’s media briefing.
PM Albanese will visit Indonesia between 5-7 May, and prior to Indonesia-Australia Summit, the two countries’ foreign ministers will hold a bilateral meeting on May 5 to discuss issues that will be brought in the summit.
It also will be the first time for new Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong to meet her Indonesian counterpart Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in person.
