Bangkok - Representatives from U.S. Embassy Jakarta and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) joined a broad international coalition at the 2nd Criminal Scam Syndicates Surge, held from 2 March to 6 March 2026 at the Anti Cyber Scam Center (ACSC) at Royal Thai Police Headquarters in Bangkok, U.S. Embassy Jakarta said.
This second Joint Disruption operation, funded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Thailand, brought together law enforcement and technology partners from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia, alongside Meta and the messaging platform LINE.
Meta detailed industry-leading efforts to counter scam threats affecting the region. The expanded coalition aimed to deepen partnerships, improve collective systems, and strengthen coordinated action against transnational scam syndicates targeting millions across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
During the week, partners shared actionable intelligence, enabling them to connect the dots between disparate pieces of information and disrupt criminal networks more effectively.
Meta shared real-time data from its platform to participating Law Enforcement Organizations, to include Indonesian representatives, with actionable information to protect it’s citizens.
As a result, Meta disabled over 150,000 accounts linked to scam center operations, while the Royal Thai Police Anti-Cyber Scam Center arrested 21 individuals and rescued more than 300 victims trafficked and forced to work in scam centers.

The operation demonstrates the growing global commitment to dismantling organized online crime and protecting communities from scams.
