Durian.  The chairperson of Golkar, Indonesia’s second largest political party, Airlangga Hartarto on Sunday announced his resignation from the top post without further exxplanation.

“The official resignation commenced last night, Saturday, 10 August 2024,” Airlangga said, mentioning that the step was aimed to ensure the party’s unity.

Golkar Party in 2024’s Legislative Elections had secured 15.29 percent votes for the national legislators.

Aairlangga who is currently the Coordinating Minister for Economic affairs let the internal party’s mechanism to choose his seccessor.

The “yellow” party is part of the elected president and vice president camp. (***)
