Jakarta - Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said tsunami has been detected in several locations in the archipelago country after a magnitude 7.7 earthquake occurred in Mindanao waters, the Philippines on Monday, 8 June 2026.

According to the BMKG, 0.09 meter tsunami was detected in Kedi, North Maluku, while a 0.18 meter high in Ulu Siau, North Sulawesi, and a 0.19 meter in Melonguane, North Sulawesi.

Tsunami was detected less then an hour after the tremor took place.
