Durian. Indonesia’s National Police in Papua said on Saturday that two security personnel — one police and one military — have been shot and died by two armed men in Puncak Jaya regency in Papua Pegunungan province when were guarding tarawih prayer there.
Another police officer was wounded in the incident and now has been treating at a nearby medical facility.
According to Senior Commissioner Ignatius Benny Adi Prabowo, spokesperson of Papua Police, the incident took place when those security personnel were guarding tarawih prayer about 8pm local time in front of Al-Amaliah Ilu Mosque when two armed men opened fire towards those personnel.
Joint security personnel are now hunting the perpetrators, he said.
