Durian. Foreign tourists, who are visiting Indonesia’s Bali, are not allowed to rent motorcycle but car, following the provincial government found foreign tourists misbehavior when enjoying their holidays on the Island of gods.
Bali Governor I Wayan Koster stated on Sunday in a press briefing that the restriction is included in the new provincial regulation.
“So, (foreign) tourists must be traveling by cars provided by travel agents, they are not anymore allowed to use motorbike that is not from their travel agents,” Koster said.
“Tourists must behave as tourists, using vehicles that are prepared by travel agents and do not travel around using motorbike, topless, nude, without safety helmet, violating travel regulation and without driving license,” Kosted added.
The restriction towards foreign tourists have been imposed recently particularly in Bali, following reports of their misbehavior towards local traditions and norms as well as the existing regulations, including traffic rules.
In Bali alone, it is recorded 171 traffic violations committed by foreign tourists from the end of February to early of March this year.
