Durian. An Iranian Military ship Kharg visits Indonesia from Feb.25-28, anchoring in Jakarta’s Tanjung Priok Port as part of the celebration of 70 years bilateral relations between the two countries this year.

Diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Iran established in 1950 and in order to celebrate 70 years anniversary of the relationship, some activities to be held including the visit of ships of the two countries.

“Ship Kharg departed from Bandar Abbas Port in Iran and carries 300 cadets from Iranian Navy Academy to be in Jakarta for four days,” Col. Mohammad Behrouz, defense attaché of Iranian embassy in Jakarta said in a press statement on Feb.25.

Navy officials meeting onboard Kharag, open ship for public and sport exercises between two countries cadets will be among activities to be conducted within four days.

“Iran and Indonesia have strategic and important role to maintain maritime security in western and eastern Asia especially in each regional waters between Hurmuz Strait and Malacca Strait,” Col. Behrouz explained.
