Durian. Public in Indonesia was shocked with a viral video on a sadistic persecution by Mario Dandy Satrio towards a teenage boy David Latumahina in February due to love-hate story and the criminal case leads to money laundering cases regarding officials from the Indonesia’s Finance Ministry.
Mario prosecuted David badly due to a report from his girlfriend A.G., who is David’s former girlfriend. Because of the persecution, David is still unconscious in critical condition in a hospital in Jakarta.
Following the case, police then declared Mario as a suspect along with others who were at the crime scene with him. One of evidences that were seized by police is a jeep wrangler Rubicon, owned by Mario.
The criminal case sparked anger among public and netizens started searching for Mario’s background, in which they found out about his father Rafael Alun Triambodo, head of a South Jakarta tax office, which is under the Finance Ministry.
Netizens also exposed Rafael’s wealth according to his wealth record as a government official and found out the jeep is not among his belongings in the report.
The finding took Rafael to be investigated internally as well as by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and related agencies.
Rafael was fired from his civil servant status on Tuesday and the KPK announced in the same day that his case is now under further investigation.
Also on Tuesday, the Indonesia’s Financial Transaction Reports And Analysis Centre (PPATK) announced that it has freeze about 40 bank accounts linked to Rafael and family, including Mario’s bank accounts, worth about 500 billion Rupiah or about 32.4 million US dollar.
Not only Rafael, another official from the ministry, Eko Darmanto was sacked from his post as head of Yogyakarta’s Customs office is the impact of Mario’s criminal case.
