Jakarta - Indonesian Defense Minister Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Military Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto on Friday, 24 April 2026 held a gathering, inviting retired military general from Army, Navy, and Air Force.
"Today, the Defense Minister and the Indonesian Military (TNI) hosted a gathering with retired military (generals) as part of efforts to strengthening strategic communication between the active generation and (their) seniors who gave huge contributions to the country," Spokesperson of the Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Rico Ricardo Strait told journalists after the gathering.
The gathering was attended by 23 retired generals, - 11 from the Army, 6 from the Navy, and 5 from the Air Force - including several former military commenders, chief of staffs, defense ministers, and coordinating ministers for political and security affairs.
"This forum is a room to give updates on the current situation, national defense policy, including future development of military strategy in the future," Strait said.
In the meeting that was also attended by Deputy Defense Minister Air Marshal (Ret.) Donny Ermawan, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff Navy Admiral Muhammad Ali, and Air Force Chief of Staff Air Marshal Tonny Harjono.
