Tangerang - A week after fire inflaming 33-hectare Jatiwaringin landfill in Indonesia's Tangerang Regency in Banten Province, various efforts to extinguish it, however as of Monday, 6 July 2026 only 45 percent of the area affected by the flame is stamped out.

The cause of the landfill fire is still unknown and so far no casualties caused by the incident.

According to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said 14 hectare out of total 33 hectare area of the landfill effected by the fire as of 6 July with about 300 personnel from various institutions have been trying to smother the fire.

Efforts to extinguish the fire came from land and air where water bombings were dropped by helicopters, while fire fighters battle it underground, showing in photos, contributed to the BNPB.
