President Joko Widodo was visiting disaster affected areas on Jan.19 to witness evacuation process and aids distribution directly.

The earthquake has triggered landslides in several locations that cut land connectivity in the province, however, the Military (TNI) personnel along with workers from related institutions have managed to open road connecting Mamuju and Majene as of Jan.18.
West Sulawesi Police Chief Insp. Gen. Eko Budi Sampurno said on Jan.18 that there some victims still buried under landslides and debris of damaged buildings.
At least three people were missing from landslides at Meikarta hill, Mamuju, he said.
