Durian. The National Statistic Agency, BPS, released a data on Feb.1 on the number of foreign tourists coming to Indonesia in 2018, which has reached 15.8 million people, or rose 12.58 percent from the previous year that was at 14 million visitors.

In December 2018 alone, there were 1.1 million foreign tourists coming to Indonesia, compared to November in the same year which was recorded 1.4 million visitors, BPS said in its statement.

To boost its income from tourism sector, Indonesian government has been promoting ten new tourist destinations, known as “10 New Balis” which are Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Tanjung Lesung in Banten, Kepulauan Seribu in Jakarta, Tanjung Kelayang Beach in Bangka Belitung, Borobudur Temple in Central Java, Mount Bromo in East Java, Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, Wakatobi in South Sulawesi and Morotai Island in North Maluku.
