Durian. Indonesian Military (TNI) said on Oct.7 that a civilian has died after shot by members of an unidentified criminal separatist armed group (KKSB) in Kenyam Nduga, Papua a day earlier.

The victim was Yulius Wetipo, 34 year-old male, was an employee of Dolarosa private company. He was shot at his left emerged to his right waist on Oct.6 morning on his way to Pasar Baru Kenyam area, Col. I.G.N. Suriastawa, spokesperson of the Joint Regional Defense Command (Kogabwilhan) III of TNI in an official statement.

Wetipo was taken to Charitas hospital in Timika after the shooting but has died on Oct.7 morning, he said.

Prior to the incident, KKSB shot a new Military District Command (Kodim) headquarters that has been installing in Intan Jaya regency. No casualty in the incident,

The following day, according to Suriastawa, members of KKSB were shooting towards a military post at Pasar Baru Kenyam that was wounding Wetipo.

The attacks were launched after the government formed a new fact finding team on Oct.2 to investigate previous bloody incident in Intan Jaya regency that have claimed life of four people, including two military personnel.

“At this moment, they are organized [and] have brutally attacked security personnel and civilians everywhere in order to attract attention and to become the source of fake news which corner the government [of Indonesia], TNI and Polri [the National Police],” Suriastawa said.
