Jakarta - Indonesia Foreign Minister Sugiono and his Chilean counterpart Foreign Minister José Fransisco Pérez MacKenna meet in Jakarta on Monday, 20 July 2026 in order to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries, while discussing priority issues, including the implementation of Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA).
The meeting between the two foreign ministers at Indonesian Foreign Ministry was posted by Minister Sugiono on his official social media X.
"Optimizing business-to-business engagement is key for the implementation of Indonesia - Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA)," Minister Sugiono said about the bilateral meeting.
For Indonesia. Chile in one of countries seeing as non-traditional business and trade partners in recent years. The two countries signed CEPA in December 2017 and into affect in August 2019. Indonesia ratified the agreement in 2025.

Under CEPA, Indonesian products enjoy zero percent import tariff in Chile. Indonesia to export commodities to Chile are including footwear and fertilizer, while Chile main products to Indonesia such as refined cooper and sulfate chemical woodpulp.
"At the bilateral meeting with Chile FM José Fransisco Pérez MacKenna on 20 July, we also agreed to strengthen our bilateral cooperation across key sectors, including critical raw minerals, science and technology, agriculture, and health," Menlu Sugiono further explained.

Monday's meeting according to Minister Sugiono, builds on 60 years on Indonesia and Chile bilateral ties, "while reaffirming Global South solidarity in advancing a fair, inclusive, and sustainable global order".***
