Durian. An Indonesian Navy ship KRI Dr. Suharso on its way to evacuate 188 workers onboard World Dream cruise near Riau waters in the border with Singapore on Feb.26 and to bring them to uninhabited island of Sebaru, Jakarta to have medical observation.
“After several meetings, [we] decided [to evacuate those who are] onboard World Dream first. Their number is more which is 188 [individuals], also close to us [Indonesian territory],” President Joko Widodo said on Feb.26.
He reaffirmed that all Indonesian crews from World Dream to be taken to Sebaru island, off North of Jakarta for observation to ensure whether they are free from covid-19 or not.
Indonesian government is on discussion to evacuate its citizens who are working onboard Diamond Princes Cruise that is now anchoring in Japan.
“The negotiation with the government of Japan is still ongoing. We try to finish it as soon as possible,” the president said in Jakarta.
President Widodo said to bring back crews from Diamond Princess needs careful calculation, considering the fate of 267 million people in the country.
Nine Indonesian crews who work onboard the cruise have found positive affected covid-19.
Fadjroel Rachman, presidential spokesman on Feb.26 afternoon said all of 188 crews from World Dream Cruise have been moved to KRI Dr. Suharso and the Navy ship is expected to arrive at Sebaru island on Feb.28.
Medical checkups for 188 Indonesian crews from the cruise found none of them positive affected by covid-19.
