Durian. The number of covid-19 confirmed case in Indonesia has surpassed 500,000 as of Nov.23, making the bed occupancy rate is higher and intensive care units (ICUs) are full.

The National Task Force on Handling Covid-19 reported 4,442 new confirmed cases on Nov.23, bringing the national tally to 502,110 with 16,002 death.

As of Nov.22, the average percentage of covid-19 active cases in Indonesia was 12.78 percent or lower from the world average of active cases which is 28.41 percent.

The trend of the average recovery rate for covid-19 patients in Indonesia shows an encouraging development. Currently, the average recovery rate is at 84.03 percent, much better than the world level of 69.20 percent.

Meanwhile, according to data from the Jakarta Provincial Health Office as of Nov.22, the capacity of the bed in hospitals around the capital city has reached 75 percent for total bed at isolation rooms and 69 percent for ICUs.

“This condition is still relatively under control. The data was taken from Kemayoran self-isolating flats, Wisma Atlet Tower 8 Pademangan, hotels and tourist guest houses in TMII [Miniature of Beautiful Indonesia’s Park],” spokesperson of the Task Force Wiku Adisasmito said on Nov.24.

He urged people to keep applying and maintaining health protocols when in public places. “Avoid the crowd, wear mask and wash your hands,” Adisasmito said.

Covid-19 cases have been spiking since June as Indonesia started restarting economic actvities and loosen large-social distancing restriction (PSBB) and people got back to almost fully practice of old routines. \\
