Durian. Indonesian National Police (Polri) have been deploying more than 83,500 personnel all over Indonesia to guard national program on vaccination for covid-19, a police spokesperson said on Jan.5 in Jakarta.
Indonesian government plans to start national vaccination on Jan.11, while the distribution of the vaccines from state-owned pharmaceutical firm Bio Farma’s storage has begun since Jan.4.
‘’Police have been involving in guarding national program of vaccination. Security measures have been taken since the arrival of the vaccine at Soekarno-Hatta airport, transferred to Bio Farma [in Bandung, West Java], the distribution to provinces to regencies even to vaccination points,’’ Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Rusdi Hartono said.
Security measures to guard the national program of vaccination are in cooperation with Indonesian Military (TNI), Hartono explained.
The security operation is under Aman Nusa II Operation code that has begun since pandemic.
Through the operation, police have duty to ensure citizens to apply health protocol to avoid the spreading of covid-19 virus widely.
Law enforcement has been taken in various forms to give deterrent effects such as business closure for more than 2,600 units; social works for almost 3,000 people and managed to collect more than Rp 7.8 billion ($625,105) of fine.
