Jakarta - Indonesia's National Narcotics Agency (BNN) that is tasked to enforce law against misuse and trafficking of narcotics on Tuesday, 7 April 2026 hopes that the government will ban the use and distribution of vape in the country, following other countries that have done it.

From its laboratory analysis to hundreds of vape's liquid, the agency found the device of the electric cigarette have been used as conductor to synthetic cannabis, anesthetic and sedative agent or otomidate, and new psychoactive substance (NPS), Head of BNN Police Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto said in a hearing with members of the House of Representatives (DPR) at Commission III in Jakarta.

"Banning vape can be implemented in Indonesia becuse vape is proven has been misused as a media to fill with otomidate," General Suyudi said.

"It's our great hope from the BNN that the ban of vape can be implemented," he reiterated.***
