Durian. As of Jan.13, Indonesia’s disaster victim identification (DVI) team has identified six victims of Sriwijaya Air Flight SJ-182 that was lost contact with the ground air traffic control on Jan.9, four minutes after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Banten for Pontianak in West Kalimantan.

The team contains more than 300 people from various institutions, including the National Police (Polri) and the Military (TNI).

They have received 112 samples of DNA from victims’ families and 137 body bags contain of body parts of the victims as of Jan.13, a Polri spokesperson Brig.Gen. Rusdi Hartono said at police hospital in East Jakarta. The team also received 35 bags contain of victims’ properties found by rescuers.

There were 62 people – 50 passengers including seven children and three babies and 12 crews – on board flight SJ-182 when the accident took place.

The team has identified six victims as Okky Bisma, Khasanah, Fadly Satrianto, Asy Habul Yamin, Indah Halimah Putri and Agus Minarni.

Bad Weather

Search and rescue operation at the location where flight SJ-182’s debris were found is ongoing in the waters near Lancang and Laki Islands, Jakarta on Jan.13, but divers were held from diving due to bad weather in the early afternoon, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said.

The join search and rescue team managed to find two more body bags contain pf body parts and seven bags of airplane’s debris.

The team has found flight data recorder (FDR) on Jan.12 and is still searching for cockpit data recorder (CVR).
