Durian. Indonesian President Joko Widodo received heartwarming wishes from world leaders for his fresh start at the office on Sunday (20/10). Jokowi, as he is popularly known, was earlier sworn in for his second and final five-year term along with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.
The popular leader won the April 2019 presidential election by securing 55.5 percent of total votes defeating rival former army general Prabowo Subianto.
Among the attendees of the inauguration were Malaysia’s Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen, and Brunei’s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
After the ceremony, Jokowi also welcomed Vietnam’s Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Myanmar’s Vice President Henry Van Thio, and the delegates from other countries including South Korea, the Philippines, Japan, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates.
