Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday, 3 March 2026 evening invited former presidents, vice presidents, foreign minister, and political party leaders to meet and discuss about the future of the nation in the midst of current global conditions at Presidential Palace, Jakarta.
The meeting was attended by former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, known as SBY, and Joko Widodo or popular as Jokowi, former Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Budiono and Ma'ruf Amin, former Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda and several political parties' leaders.
Indonesia joins the Board of Peace (BoP) is among topics discussed in the 3.5-hours meeting according to former Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda.

President Prabowo, according to Hassan, described the situation in West Asia region regarding United States (US) and Israel joint military operation, called Roaring Lion, towards Iran, starting on 28 February 2026. Iran launched counter-attacked to Israel's territory and US' military bases in Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
"It's discussed, but also in the context of current development whether the war in Iran will weaken, it's likely weaken the position and mandate of the BoP. We will calculate from that side," Hassan said after the meeting. Hassan Wirajuda served as Indonesian foreign minister from 2001 to 2009 under the presidency of Megawati Soekarnoputri and SBY.

Indonesia is a founding countries of BoP, initiated by US President Donald Trump.
