Durian. Indonesians witnessed a historical reconciliation momentum between reelected President Joko Widodo, popular known as Jokowi, and former 2019 presidential election rival Prabowo Subianto on July 13 when two leaders called their supporters to unite for the sake of the country’s development.

The meeting was held at an MRT’s compartment from Lebak Bulus to Senayan for about 20 minutes after almost one year competition that divide the two leaders’ supporters and the nation.

Arrived at Senayan station, Prabowo officially congratulated Jokowi for his reelection as the president of Indonesia after long-strong-competition in 2019 presidential election on April 17.

“Congratulation…Enjoy your duty and congratulation for additional grey hairs,” Prabowo said.

Both Prabowo and Jokowi described it was best friends and brothers meeting.

“No more 01, 02. No more ‘cebong’, ‘kampret’ there is only Garuda Pancasila,” Jokowi said, referring their numbers in ballot papers. Jokowi supporters are called ‘cebong’ or tadpole and Prabowo’s as ‘kampret’ or bat.

“I agree [with Jokowi], no more ‘cebong’, ‘kampret’, all are Merah-Putih,” Prabowo said, referring to Indonesia’s national flag Red-and-White.

Prabowo promised to help Jokowi’s government for the sake of the people interests.

From Senayan station in South Jakarta, the two leaders walked to a nearby shopping mall and having lunch at Sate Khas Senayan restaurant that serves Indonesian cuisine. They ate satay before separated.
