Durian. At least six people have been found death by search and rescue team from a traditional gold mining in Barunda village, Parigi Mountong regency in Indonesia’s Central Sulawesi on Feb.25 after landslide hit the mining area on Feb.24 aftenoon, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said.
Rescue team from Central Sulawesi capital Palu has arrived in the disaster area on early morning of Feb.25.
From rescue efforts, 16 survivors were found which three of them are injured. One person is still missing.
Search and rescue team consists of member from various institutions including police and local Basarnas branches with total 136 personnel.
Traditional gold mining is commonly created by society without proper safety and no specific operator.
