Durian. Torrential rains in the last few days have triggered a landslide that has buried a village in Indonesia’s Natuna regency on Moday, killing at least 10 people, according to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).

Search and Rescue operation is ongoing but poor weather that comes with rains and rough waves hindering the efforts as well as unstable soil.

The disaster location is situated in a remote area in Serasan district, Natuna regency in Riau Islands province. The island where the accident took place is separated with the main island where regency government offices are placed.

Personnel from regional offices of BNPB have been deployed to location but they must face high tide.

Due to difficult communication connectivity it is likely that the number of the death toll may change.
