Durian. Torrential rains have triggered landslides, causing 11 people have died and three others were injured in North Tarakan and Central Tarakan regencies in Indonesia’s North Kalimantan province on Sept.28.
The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) in a statement on Sept. 28 said seven casualties were from North Tarakan and four others were from Central Tarakan.
Indonesia is currently in the transition period between rainy and dry seasons which the authorities have issued weather forecast warning on potential extreme weather.
Due to torrential rains flash floods were happened in various places across Indonesia such as in Sukabumi in West Java and Sorong in West Papua.
While, in other parts of Indonesia the extreme weather has caused droughts such as in Cental Java.
