Durian. Torrential rains have triggered landslides in Tanjung Lalang village, Muara Enim regency in Indonesia’s South Sumatra province have claimed life of 11 people on Oct.21.
The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said on Oct.22, location where the landslides occurred was a 20 meter-depth tunnel which was a traditional coal mining.
Ten victims have been identified and handed over to their families for burial. BNPB did not mention the number of wounded victim.
Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecast on Oct.22 about potential heavy rains in the disaster area to continue until next three days.
BMKG has issued weather alert for potential hydrometrical disasters such as flood and landslide.
