Durian. Pair leader candidates registered to regional General Elections Commission (KPU) offices on Sunday in several locations across Indonesia on the deadline on Sept.6 to contest in 2020 regional elections that will be held on December 9.
The election schedule was changed from Sept. 23 to Dec.9 due to covid-19 pandemic.
This year’s simultaneous regional elections will elect leaders from nine provinces, 224 regencies and 37 municipals.
Applying covid-19 heath protocol, candidates and their supporters should prevent themselves by considering social distancing, wearing masks and others. However, enthusiasm to participate in democracy events made many of participants ignored the protocol.
