Durian. Indonesia’s National Anti-Drugs Agency (BNN) in cooperation with Customs have uncovered an international drugs smuggling network, linking Malaysia – Indonesia’s Central Sulawesi through sea route currently, BNN said on Jan.19.

The network was found after BNN arresting three Indonesians with initial A.L., A.S. and D in Makassar Strait, Donggala regency in Central Sulawesi on Jan.10. From them, law enforcers confiscated 42.43 kilogram of methamphetamine or locally known as shabu-shabu, head of BNN Comsr. Gen. Petrus Golose said.

The evidence was found the boat which was used to transfer methamphetamine from Malaysia to Central Sulawesi.

‘’Officers searched a boat and found three plastic sacks contain of 40 bags of shabu weighted 42.43 kilogram from Malaysia,’’ Golose said in Jakarta.

He did not mention the origin of the narcotic in Malaysia.

The three suspects have been transferred to Jakarta for further investigation.

Separately, the agency discovered 10.62 kilogram of shabu-shabu from a messenger during an arrest in Kapuk Muara, North Jakarta on Jan.12.

The messenger received the narcotics from a drugs fugitive, carried from Bagansiapiapi, Riau, on Sumatra Island.

Four individuals are alleged violating Indonesia’s 2009 Anti-Drugs Law with maximum death sentence if found guilty.
