Durian. More body parts and debris from missing flight SJ-182 have been found by search and rescue team from Thousand Islands waters in Indonesia’s Jakarta during Jan.11-12 operation, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said.

As of Jan.11, at least 74 body bags contain of body parts have been handed over to disaster victim identification (DVI) team and 40 bags of debris from the aircraft to the National Commission for Safety Transportation (KNKT).

One victim was identified as DVI team has received 59 DNA samples from victims’ families as of Jan.11.

At least four bags of body parts and four bags of debris were found on Jan.12.

Over 3,800 personnel are involved in the search and rescue operation. There are 54 ships, 18 rigid inflatable boats, three helicopters and 33 ambulances have been deployed in the operation around Lancang and Laki Islands’ waters, part of Thousand Islands.

Rescuers keep searching for black boxes of the aircraft, operated by Sriwijaya Air.

Flight SJ-182 was lost contact with ground air traffic control at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten on Jan.9, only four minutes after taking off for Pontianak in West Kalimantan.

Total 62 people – 50 passengers, including seven children and three babies and 12 crews – were on board at the time of accident.

DVI team needs DNA samples for three more victims.
