Washington DC - Indonesia is preparing up to 8,000 troops and could be more if it is necessary to be part of International Stabilization Force (ISF), President Prabowo Subianto told the first meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) in Washington DC on Thursday, 19 February 2026.

In his turn to speak, President Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to the success of the BoP and completely agree with President Donald Trump's 20-point Gaza peace plan 

“Indonesia, from the first day that we studied President Trump’s 20-point plan, we completely agree and we’re fully committed to this plan and that is why we joined the Board of Peace. We’re committed to its success," President Prabowo said.


Indonesia is one of 19 countries that signed the Board of Peace Charter on 22 January 2026 in Davos, Switzerland in the sidelines of World Economic Forum.

"We know there will be a lot of obstacles, there will be a lot of difficulties, but we are very optimistic with the leadership of President Trump. This vision of real peace will be achieved," the retired general said, adding that "we will achieve our dream of peace in Palestine, peace, a lasting and peaceful solution for the Palestinian problem and in Gaza. The achievement of the ceasefire is real".

Indonesia has been supporting the independence of Palestine in accordance to the mandate of the Preamble of its Constitution, to ensure freedom, world peace and social justice.

 "We reaffirm our commitment to contribute significant number of troops, up to 8,000 or more if necessary, we are prepared to contribute the troops to take part actively in the International Stabilization Force to make this peace work,” President Pabowo concluded his remarks.***
