Washington DC - U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday, 21 April 2026 announced an extension of ceasefire with Iran and will send representatives to talk with Iranian party in Pakistan.

President Trump on 7 April 2026 has announced a ceasefire with Iran for 14 days,  ended on 21 April 2026.

His decision to extend the ceasefire after pursuing by Pakistani Armed Forces Commander Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister  Shehbaz Sharif.

"...upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif, of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our attack on the country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal," President Trump said in his written announcement.

In previous U.S.-Iran talks in Islamabad, Pakistan on 12 April failed to reach an agreement. 

U.S. started blockade Iran's ports for a week and President Trump said it continues until agreement between the two countries reached.

"I have therefore directed our military to continue blockade and, in all respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other," President Trump said.***
