Durian. Mount Merapi that lies on Indonesia’s Java Island erupted again on Sunday, but lighter than its Saturday’s eruptions, as cleaning process ongoing.

The volcano’s eruptions on Saturday have covered several villages in Magelang regency, Central Java.

Local police and military personnel have been deployed to clean the affected areas from ashes manually and also by using armoured water canon.

“We are focusing on cleaning Krinjing village’s road, about 4-km length because the location of the village is only 5-km away from the crater of Mt. Merapi,” Senior Commissioner Ruruh Wicaksono, police chief of Magelang said.

Security personnel also distributed face-masks to the people in those affected areas.
