Durian. Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 announces its new board of directors, in which Simon Aloysius Mantiri is picked as the new president director.

Simon was appointed to replace Nicke Widyawati in the company’s shareholders meeting on Monday.

Simon joined Pertamina this year as an independent commissioner, replacing Basuki Tjahaja Purnawa alias Ahok who resigned from his post in February to join political campaign for his political party.

Simon is a politician from the rulling party Gerindra, led by President Prabowo Subianto.

“The changing of leadership in a corporate is a normal process, according to the existing rules,” said  Pertamina’s Vice President Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso in a written statement on Monday.

Besides appointed Simon as the new president director of the state-owned firm, the shareholders meeting also set the new commissioners and other members of the board of directors.

Mochamad Iriawan as the main commissioner,  Dep. Main commissioner Dony Oskaria as deputy main commissioner, Raden Adjeng Sondaryani as an independent comssioner, Heru Pambudi as a commissioner, Bambang Suswantono as a commissioner, Condro Kirono, Alexander Lay and Iggi H. Achsien as independent comssioners.
