Durian. South Korean ambassador to Indonesia Park Tae-sung expressed the interest of the country business community to participate in certain transportation projects in Indonesia, namely Bekasi Proving Ground, railway development in Bali and the development of Hang Nadim airport in Batam, Riau Islands.

The statement was made by Ambassador Park in a meeting with Indonesian Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi in Jakarta on Jan. 6.

Minister Sumadi on that occasion invited South Korean business community to participate in transportation project for the new capital of Indonesia in East Kalimantan.

‘’I invite and welcome the interest and participation of South Korean private sector to invest in Indonesia’s transportation projects through public private partnership scheme,’’ Sumadi said as quoted by the ministry’s statement on Jan.7.

South Korean through official development assistance program have assisted Indonesia in several transportation projects such as Master Plan for Improving Bus Terminal in the Republic of Indonesia and Intelligent Transport System as pilot projects.

South Korea also has assisted Indonesia on developing its shipment navigation tools which part of sea-toll project and procurement of electric cars for the Transportation Ministry by Hyundai Ionic.
