Durian. Two civilians are injured after separate attacks that believed were conducted by unidentified criminal armed group (KKB) in Indonesia’s Papua, Indonesian National Police spokesman Brig. Gen, Awi Setiyono said on Sept.15.

The events took place on Sept.14 at Sugapa district in Intan Jaya regency. The victims are working as motorcycle drivers and were identified by their initials L.A.M. (34) and F.R. (24).

L.A.M. was passing Didigi village in when the group shot him seven times, wounding his right arm. F.R. was attacked five minutes later by shooting and sharp-weapons. He suffers injured in his stomach, forehead and nose, the police spokesman explained in Jakarta.

Join police and military personnel who were patrolling the area rescued F.R., while L.A.M. was helped by a military official. Both victims were taken to nearby medical clinics before transferred to Timika by air for further treatment, Setiyono said.

There were 46 violence cases related to criminal armed group that took place in Papua since Jan.1 to Sept.14 this year, causing nine people have died – five civilians, two military officers and two police – and wounding 23 others, the police general explained.

Police and Military personnel are searching for the perpetrators of the two latest criminal events.
