Boven Digul, Indonesia - Indonesian authority confirmed that two pilot from Smart Cakrawala Aviation were shot dead by unidentified gunmen after landing their airplane at Koroway Batu Airport in Boven Digul, South Papua Province on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.

Indonesia's Directorate General of Civil Aviation at the Transportation Ministry on its official statement said a Cessna Grand Caravan airplane, operated by Smart Cakrawala Aviation was shot at the airport around 11AM local time.

The aircraft was carrying 13 passengers, including an infant, and two crews when shot at the airport. The airplane's departed from Tanah Merah Airport in Boven Digul at 10.38am local time.

"At 13.26 western Indonesian time, we received information that the two pilot were shot dead, while 12 adult passengers and an infant were all safe," Director General of Civil Aviation Lukman F. Laisa said.

No party has claimed responsible for the deadly incident yet.***
