Durian. Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on possible extreme weather during the peak rainy season from January to February 2021, following the appearance of a waterspout that was created at Gajah Mungkur Dam in Wonogiri, Central Java on Jan.20 afternoon.
The waterspout was triggered by cumulonimbus clouds, the agency said without giving details about its speed.
Waterspout is a rare phenomenon for Indonesians who are living in a tropical country.
‘’Wonogiri in Jan. to Feb. is still in the peak rainy season period, so high intensity rains along with lights and waterspout will still possible to happen and it needs to be aware,’’ BMKG said in its statement.
The agency warned the people to be aware on possible extreme weather during Jan. to Feb.
