Jakarta - Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Friday, 24 April 2026 issued a warning on potential high tide up to 4 meter in the archipelagic country's waters between 24 and 27 April 2026.
The agency forecast the wind will blow from northern part towards northwest to northeast with speed between 4 and 20 knot, while in the southern area the wind blow towards southeast to southeast direction between 5 and 25 knot.
The highest speed of the wind forecast to appear on Arafuru Sea.
Medium tide between 1.25 and 2.5 meter high potentially take place in areas mostly connected to the Indian Ocean.
While tide with the hight between 2.5 to 4 meters will possibly happen in off coast of Lampung to southern of Java Island, southern Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
"The high tide potential in several areas can risk sea shipping," the agency warned.***
