Durian. Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission, KPK, officers arrested the chairman of the United Development Party, PPP, on March 14 in Sidoarjo, East Java.

The chairman of PPP Romahurmuziy, also known as Romy, was arrested at East Java provincial office for religious affairs in Sidoarjo on Friday morning and was taken to East Java Police office for further questioning by KPK officials, Frans Barung Mangera, a poiice  spokesman said.

The East Java Police spokesman said Romy will be transferred to Jakarta by KPK.

Chairman of KPK Agus Rahardjo confirm the arrest.

“It is right that KPK conducts activities in East Java. Right now, interrogation is ongoing by KPK at East Java Police office,” he said as quoted by Kompas.com.

KPK will give further details later in a press conference, he said.

Romy is one of close supporter to incumbent President Joko Widodo who will compete for the second term in April 17.
