Palembang - A passenger bus crashed with a tanker truck in Indonesia's South Sumatra on Wednesday, 6 May 2026 causing at least 16 people lost their lives.
The passenger bus came from Lubuk Linggau in South Sumatra toward Jambi reportedly was carrying 13 passengers and 3 crew, while two people were inside the tanker truck when the crash took place.
A motorcycle was also burnt in the accident that was taken place on Trans Sumatra road in Karang Jaya District, South Sumatra
"There are 16 people were killed in total, while four others are injured, three of them are seriously wounded and another has minor wounds," said Mugono, head of North Musi Rawas Regency's Disaster Mitigation Office (BPBD) on Wednesday.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.***
