Jakarta - Indonesia and Kazakhstan are both recognized as founding countries of the Board of Peace (BoP), initiated by US President Donald Trump, that is aimed to achieve lasting peace for Palestinians, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

State leaders of both countries, President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, also attended the first meeting of the BoP in Washington DC on 19 February 2026, sitting side-by-side.
