Kerala - Torrential rains have triggered landslide that brought flash flood - captured on CCTV - into a construction tunnel of the road in Wayanad, India's Kerala on Tuesday, 7 July 2026 that caused three migrant workers died, five people are still missing.
As of Wednesday, rescuers keep searching for the five missing individuals, using excavators and sniff dogs to help the process.
The incident is man-made disaster as contractor who has been working on the construction site dumped soil in an unscientific manner, according to Agriculture Minister T. Siddique.
The location of the disaster is not from July last year's landslides that killed more than 200 people.
"As of today, we have found three bodies. Since morning we haven't found anything but the search has begun and it is going on in full speed. Five people are missing and three are found dead," Head of District Collector D.R. Mageshree said on the site.
Raining continue fall in the area that can affect the search and rescue operation, however they continue working. Government officials and lawmakers visited the location.
The incident went viral as a CCTV footage showing the moment of the flash flood washed away things and people on its way.***
