Riyadh -  Member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Saturday, 21 March 2026 strongly condemned "the blatant Israeli aggression" against Syria's military infrastructure in southern part of the country in West Asia region.

In a statement, released. by the office of GCC Secretary General, the Gulf nations affirmed that Israeli strikes against Syria has been undermining the security and stability foundations in the region.

Israel's Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday said it has struck military camp in southern Syria, following attacks on Druze community.

Druze people is a distinct religious community, living in part of Syria and Lebanon and practicing monotheism.

Israel said it will not allow any harm to be placed upon the people of Druze. Druze militia had said that a drone attack, believed to be from Syrian military, has killed nine people.

"The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) condemned, in the strongest terms, the blatant Israeli aggression that targeted military infrastructure in southern Syria," the statement of GCC said.

GCC Secretary General Jassim Al-Budaiwi stressed the importance of respecting Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity as well as rejecting foreign interference in its internal affairs.

He said Syria’s security and stability are a fundamental pillar of the region’s security and stability.

GCC member countries are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).***
