Jakarta — Indonesian National Police has been investigating suspected several corruption cases, including electricity blackouts across Sumatra Island and Java Island, regarding coal supplies, raiding dozen locations that suspected linked to a senior state prosecutor since Wednesday, 8 July 2026 and the prices is underway.

Besides, suspected graft regarding coal supplies to power plants, police investigators have been chasing other cases and expanded into a wider probe, covering alleged bribery and money laundering linked to two other major state-linked cases, insurer Asabri and steelmaker Krakatau Steel.

Police on Thursday, 9 July 2026 said its investigators had searched 12 locations in Jakarta and Bogor this week, including a café and a money changer in South Jakarta and a luxury house in Sentul, Bogor, seizing gold bars and cash worth hundreds of billions of rupiah, in an operation led by the national police anti-corruption unit and Jakarta Metropolitan Police personnel that has drawn public attention to Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah.

The searches began Wednesday at Café de'Clan Signature in Cipete, South Jakarta, where investigators found a hidden safe containing nearly 60 billion rupiah ($3.7 million) in Singapore dollars, U.S. dollars and rupiah, along with documents and electronic devices, National Police's Anti-corruption Unit Chief Inspector General Totok Suharyanto said.

A search of a nearby money changer turned up 71 pieces of evidence, including foreign currency worth 7.2 billion rupiah.

A larger discovery followed that night at a house in Sentul, Bogor, where investigators broke through a wood-paneled wall to find a locked safe containing seven suitcases. Inside were 74 kilograms of gold bars and cash estimated at 476 billion rupiah in total, according to Suharyanto.

"A locked safe was found, and when opened it contained seven suitcases. Estimated total value in rupiah is 476 billion," he said.

Police have not confirmed who owns the café or the Sentul house, however both locations have been publicly linked to Febrie, who oversees prosecution of major graft cases including the ongoing investigation into former Education Minister Nadiem Makarim.

From house in Sentul, two family photos, showcasing Fabrie and family were confiscated.

Soldiers were posted outside Febrie's official residence in South Jakarta on Wednesday night as the searches took place elsewhere in the city. The café itself was previously the site of a 2024 incident in which an anti-terror police unit was accused of surveilling Febrie during a private meal.

Jakarta Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto declined to confirm ownership of the searched properties, citing the presumption of innocence.

"Where did that information come from? Please ask whoever knows. We maintain the principle of presumption of innocence," Hermanto told reporters.

The Indonesian National Military (TNI) said its troops guarded Febrie's residence at the AGO's request, unrelated to the searches elsewhere.
