Jakarta - Indonesian Transportation Ministry said about 6 million people have traveled using public transportations across the country for celebrating Nyepi and Eid al-Fitri from 13 to 17 March 2026.

"From 13 March 2026 or D-8 up to 17 March (D-4) of Eid al-Fitr, there were total 6,251,806 people have travelled using public transportation, or rose 10.98 percent compared to the same period in Lebaran 2025 at 5.633.141 people," Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Transportation Ministry said on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.

The number of traveler using train rose 15.67 percent to 1.863.782 passengers compared to 1.611.291 in previous year.
Travelers favor train and aircraft for this year's Eid al-Fitr travel, the data from the miistry shows.
The Ministry paid special attention to some travel points that are likely to be packed with travelers, including Gilimanuk Sea Port and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on Bali Island that will be closed during Nyepi celebration.***
