Arad - Yair Ma'ayan, the mayor of Arad, a city in southern part of Israel, said on Sunday, 22 March 2025 that a huge miracle happened when Iran's cluster missiles hit apartment buildings in the city on Saturday evening as no casualties caused, but 85 residents, including children, were injured.

Iran's missiles on Saturday night hit Dimona and Arad in southern Israel as well as Tel Aviv on Sunday.

It's reported that 47 people were wounded in Dimona, home of Shimon Perez Negev nuclear research center, but did not impacted the nuclear site.

Meanwhile, Arad Mayor told journalist at the site where hit by Iran's cluster missile that 85 residents were injured due to the strike. The residential compound has about 1,000 residents.

"We have the miracle, no one has been killed last night, we have about 85 injured, they are in hospital, most of them already went out to their home," Mayor Yair Ma'ayan said during the visit of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar to the attack scene.

Yair explained that the missile hit underground first and caused the damage of four buildings. He said if the missile directly hit any of the building, it's possible to cause fatalities around 10 to 15 people.

Four damaged buildings will be destroyed and rebuild, he said.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said Iran's strategy and objective when striking is to cause as many of civilian casualties as possible. He confirmed that from Israel's point of view, it has achieved its military objective.

Minister Gideon also said no fatalities among Israelis in Iran's missile strikes in three area - Dimona, Arad and Tel Aviv - was a miracle.
