Jakarta - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to begin his state visit to Indonesia from 6 to 8 July 2026, his first trip to the country since President Prabowo Subianto took office in 2024, the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Sandeep Chakravorty said on Friday, 3 July 2026 in Jakarta .
This visit will be a reciprocal visit following President Prabowo's trip to India in January. PM Modi will visit Jakarta and Yogyakarta.
In Jakarta, PM Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, discussing trade, defense, and maritime cooperation between the two nations.
The two leaders then will attend a state dinner, hosted in the Prime Minister's honor.
Modi caps off the day by addressing thousands of members of Indonesia's Indian diaspora at the Jakarta Convention Center.
The following day, the Prime Minister travels to Yogyakarta, visiting Prambanan Temple to honor the deep cultural ties between India and Indonesia.
The visit marks a new chapter in the two countries' strategic partnership.***
