Caracas - The USGS said on Wednesday, 24 June 2026 that at 22.04 UTC,  a magnitude 7.1 earthquake has shaken Venezuela, video spreading on social media showing buildings collapsed.

According to the USGS, the center of the tremor was less or about 30 km Northwest of Montalban, east of Northeast of San Filipe, Southeast of Yumare, north of Northeast Nirgua and north of Northwest of Miranda. The center of the earthquake was in land with 13 km depth.

Footages showing the tremor has caused people panic and buildings or part of buildings collapsed.
