Doha - Qatar's Interior Ministry and Defense Ministry on Sunday, 22 March 2026 said in its written statement that six out of seven people who were onboard a helicopter, crashed in its territory, have been found dead.
Qatar's Defense Ministry on early hours of Sunday said a Qatari helicopter had technical malfunction during its routine duty and crashed in the country's regional waters.
"...search efforts have resulted in finding six out of seven who were onboard. The death of those who were found has been confirmed," the Interior Ministry said, adding that searching to find the last missing person is ongoing.
Qatar's Defense Ministry mentioned names of victims of the crashed helicopter who have been found. They were pilot Captain Mubarak Salem Daway Al Marri, Sergeant Fahad Hadi Ghanem Al Khayarin, and Corporal Mohammed Maher Mohammed from Qatar Armed Forces, Major Sinan Taştekin from Qatar-Turkiye Joint Forces, as well as Suleiman Cemra Kahraman and Ismail Anas Can, two Turkish civilian collaborators as passengers on the helicopter.
The missing person was pilot Captain Saeed Nasser Samekh from Qatar Armed Forces.
