Yogyakarta - Blue lights swept across a wide white stage as a red-haired woman leaned over her DJ booth, setting the night's first rhythm. Minutes later, she straightened up, grabbed the microphone, and let her voice fill the room.
That was Violet Indigo, French-American singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ, performing at Jogja National Museum as part of ARTJOG 2026's Performa program, coinciding with the global Fête de la Musique celebration on Wednesday, 25 June 2026.

The Yogyakarta show was part of Violet Indigo's debut Indonesian tour, spanning seven cities — Denpasar, Surabaya, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung, and Medan — organized by the Institut français d'Indonésie (IFI) in partnership with local collaborators in each city.

In Yogyakarta, IFI partnered with ARTJOG, a collaboration that IFI Yogyakarta Director Margaux Nemmouchi said has deepened over several consecutive years.
"It is very important for us to work with ARTJOG, because our goals are the same: to introduce artists," Nemmouchi said.
She added that IFI Yogyakarta also invited five emerging Yogyakarta-based bands to perform alongside Violet Indigo, anchoring the celebration in the local music scene.
